Sardinia, an island that strikes the visitor for its natural contrasts, lights and colors.
It is located in the center of the Mediterranean, with a mountainous territory but without high peaks.
The sea is the main element. The Costa Smeralda with Porto Cervo is a testimony of this. Its Porto Vecchio is the best equipped tourist port in the Mediterranean. Porto Rotondo overlooks the wide Gulf of Cugnana and is full of villas and squares.
For mountain lovers, the Gennargentu stands out with a rich flora and fauna.
Notable environmental aspects are the Nuraghi which are built with large stone blocks. They developed around a central tower which has a truncated cone. They are archaeological sites where you can see the signs of ancient rituals. We find the Barumini complex in the province of Medio Campidano.
The provinces of Sardinia are: Cagliari (capital), Carbonia-Iglesias, Nuoro, Olbia-Tempio, Oristano, Medio Campidano, Sassari, Ogliastra.

WHAT TO TASTE
Sardinian cuisine is simple and rich in natural ingredients. The most famous ingredient is wheat, carasau bread and the famous malloreddus, culurgiones and fregola. We remember the tasty porceddu, suckling pig cooked on the grill and served on cork trays sprinkled with myrtle branches. For fish lovers, the algherese lobster, the bottarga of Cabras and the tuna of Carloforte. Also noteworthy are the meats and cheeses.
